Arnica is wonderful for bumps, bruises, hyperextensions, sore muscles, sprains, strains, swelling, and overuse injuries. 

 

Arnica works best when you give it a few hours or apply it before bed and let it work overnight. It's not intended for major injuries or for long-term use. It works best for injuries that are aggravated by movement and helped by rest.

 

Though not an instant pain reliever, arnica helps reduce the swelling that causes the pain. It does this by lessening inflammation, stagnation, and congestion at the site of wounds, resulting in reduced pain and swelling and a faster recovery time.

 

As a sports massage oil, arnica increases the absorption and drainage of lactic acid, helping you get back out there sooner. As a preventative, use it prior to a potential overuse event, then immediately after the event and up to a couple of days after.

 

It can be used up to 4-5 times a day for acute situations, though limit this type of use to a couple of days.

    Test a small amount on your inner forearm and wait 24 hours prior to application to test for sensitivity.

    Do not use if you are pregnant, nursing, or on children under the age of 7 without consultation.

    Avoid use if currently taking blood thinning medication.

    Do not use on broken or damaged skin.

    Use for a limited duration: no more than two weeks maximum. Take one month off before using again to avoid a reaction.

    Stop using if redness occurs.
